Getting Started and More with Windows 10 IoT Core w/ Bret Stateham
Microsoft has provided operating systems for embedded systems for nearly two decades. With Windows 10, however, we finally have a common kernel of windows that can run on devices from Microcontrollers to phones to tablets to laptops to desktops to servers to Xbox to HoloLens. In this session I’ll show you how to get started working with Windows 10 IoT Core on Raspberry Pi. But I won’t stop there. I’ll also show you how you can easily tie other Microcontrollers, like the ever popular Arduino into your Universal Windows Platform apps and how you can even treat the Raspberry Pi like an Arduino. Finally, boards like the Raspberry Pi and Arduino are a big part of the “Internet of Things” (IoT) craze so we’ll wrap up showing you how easy it is to communicate with Windows 10 IoT Core on the Pi with Azure IoT Hubs! I’ll keep the slides to a minimum and the demos at full speed.
